Teng Teng’s Social Media Channels Spark Major Dispute in Uganda

The YouTube channel and social media platforms belonging to Ugandan child internet sensation Saad Ssozi, popularly known as “Rango Teng Teng,” have become the center of a growing controversy after his father publicly appealed to authorities for help in recovering them.

According to Teng Teng’s family, a former manager who previously handled the young star’s YouTube, TikTok, and other social media accounts allegedly took control of the platforms and claimed ownership over them. The issue has since attracted widespread attention across Uganda and the East African entertainment industry.

However, Michael Kabonge, the former adviser and manager of Teng Teng, has defended himself by stating that he was the one who originally created the YouTube channel and therefore believes no one else has the right to claim ownership of it.

The dispute became even more emotional after Teng Teng revealed that he and his family are currently facing financial difficulties. The young social media personality reportedly said he no longer has the ability to pay school fees, repair the family house, or support basic household needs due to the loss of access to the accounts that generated income.

Speaking to local media, Teng Teng’s father claimed that during the period they worked together, the former manager only used to give the family around $100, equivalent to more than 360,000 Ugandan shillings. The family is now requesting government intervention to help mediate the conflict and convince Michael Kabonge to return the social media accounts.

The matter has quickly become one of the most discussed entertainment stories in East Africa, with many social media users and entertainment news outlets closely following the developments.

Teng Teng’s YouTube channel currently has more than 4 million subscribers, making it one of the most influential child-content platforms in the region.
