FPR Inkotanyi Introduces Leadership Reforms at General Assembly

Written by Noel Mporebuke

On Friday, December 19, 2025, the Rwanda Patriotic Front (FPR Inkotanyi) held its General Assembly, during which significant changes were made to the party’s top leadership structures. The meeting, chaired by the Chairman of FPR Inkotanyi, Paul Kagame, marked an important milestone in the party’s ongoing commitment to strengthening good governance and advancing national development.

The leadership reforms were introduced with the aim of reinforcing the party’s capacity and ensuring the effective implementation of its strategic objectives. As part of these changes, new leadership positions were created alongside adjustments to existing roles.

Consolée Uwimana was appointed First Vice President of FPR Inkotanyi, while Kayisire Marie Solange was named Second Vice President a newly created position that did not previously exist within the party’s leadership framework.

In addition, Ambassador Bazivamo Christophe was appointed Secretary General of the party. He will be assisted by Gasana Karasanyi Stephen, who takes on the role of Deputy Secretary General, another newly established position intended to enhance coordination and efficiency within the party’s administration.

The General Assembly also approved the creation of a new body known as the Council of Elders. This advisory organ is tasked with providing guidance, oversight, and strategic input on key decisions taken in the interest of the party.

These leadership changes reflect FPR Inkotanyi’s continued efforts to adapt its internal governance structures, strengthen institutional effectiveness, and maintain its role in promoting stability, unity, and development in Rwanda.
