Kigali City Announces Fireworks Locations to Celebrate the New Year 2026

The City of Kigali has officially announced the locations where fireworks will be displayed to celebrate the arrival of the New Year 2026.

According to Kigali City authorities, the fireworks celebrations will take place on the night of Tuesday, December 31, 2025, leading into Wednesday, January 1, 2026. The event is part of the city’s annual festivities marking the end of the year and welcoming the New Year.

The main fireworks displays for the general public will be held at several strategic locations across the city. These include Kigali City Hall, Kigali Pelé Stadium, Canal Olympia in Rebero, and Kigali Heights.

In addition, the City of Kigali indicated that there will be fireworks displays at selected venues mainly intended for guests at those locations. These include Hôtel des Mille Collines, Atelier du Vin, Serena Hotel, and the parking area of the Kigali Convention Centre.

City authorities emphasized that all these activities have been carefully planned to ensure a safe and enjoyable celebration for residents and visitors alike. They noted that the fireworks are meant to help people celebrate the year coming to an end and usher in the New Year in a joyful atmosphere.

The City of Kigali also reminded the public to celebrate responsibly during the festive season, urging people to consume alcohol in moderation and strictly avoid serving alcoholic drinks to anyone under the age of 18.
